Alicia James has additional qualifications in podiatry, also having completed the Masters of Health Science (Podiatry). Within this study she has gained post-graduate experience in Sports medicine, Paediatrics and Wound Care – Diabetes. She is also registered as an endorsed prescriber for scheduled medicines.
Alicia is a director on the Australian Podiatry Association (Vic) board and was awarded the Jennifer O'Meara Award early in 2010. She started working in Kingston Foot Clinic in 2008 and also works within the public sector. In the past, Alicia has worked in multidisciplinary clinics along side physiotherapists, assessing and treating paediatric foot and lower leg conditions. Lastly, Alicia is an active member of the Paediatric Special Interest Group (A.Pod.A. Vic) and has held the chairperson position in the past.
Alicia is currently a PhD candidate with Monash University and is in the final stages of investigating treatment options for heel pain in children.
